It is reported that the band will release their fourth studio album this coming spring. The French dance duo, which consists of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, have left Virgin, with whom they signed in 1996. There were rumours that Daft Punk would be touring and playing several festivals this summer including Coachella and Glastonbury, but this is definitely not happening.

BBC Radio 1 DJ Rob da Bank has confirmed this saying, “We got told months ago that Daft Punk were definitely not touring next year, but it keeps the rumour mill going.”

The X Factor fan favorite, loved for her bubbly personality and curly hair, Rachel Crow has just landed a Nickelodeon TV deal and Columbia Records contract.

The 14-year-old singer has scored a talent deal with Nickelodeon that includes a recurring role on comedy series, Fred: The Show, and her own musical comedy series pilot.

In addition, Rachel has been signed by Columbia Records in partnership with her X Factor coaches  Simon Cowell’s company, Syco.

“It’s such an honor to be signed to Columbia Records,” Rachel said in a statement. “To think that I am signed to the same label as my idols is a dream come true. I can’t wait to get in the studio and start making music.”

“And I am so excited to now be a part of the Nickelodeon family. I grew up watching Nick, and I’m a huge fan,” Rachel added.

Rachel was eliminated on The X Factor after making it to the top five.

Swedish indie band Miike Snow have just announced that they will be releasing their sophomore album this March! Back in 2009, the band released their eponymous debut album which received widely acclaimed attention. You may have even heard their track “Animal”, as it has been placed in many TV commercials and movies.

Happy To You is slated to be out on March 26th and this time around, they’ve developed a more grandiose and dark sounding record that is sure to please. On a scale, there will be heavy use of full orchestra and marching bands incorporated into the exciting new musical effort.

Pontus Winnberg from Miike Snow states, “Before this album, we were an idea. This time we were a band. And this time, we had paid our dues ‘ we’d toured in 27 countries for 18 months. When we came in to make Happy To You, we came in as a unit, and emotionally for us that makes a huge difference. And hopefully you can hear it.”

Having recorded in various studios across Sweden and self-producing the whole thing, we’re definitely anticipating Miike Snow‘s forthcoming album!
