This week marked the kickoff for Arcade Fire’s summer tour, as they played to a crowd of over 1,200 in Sherbrooke, Quebec.  The upcoming tour comes at an exciting time for the indie-orchestral band, who will release their new LP3 The Suburbs on August 2 and 3 via Merge.  Future show-goers will be fortunate enough to hear the  LP3’s single “The Suburbs”, a lackadaisical summer ballad full of acoustic strumming, cabaret piano melodies, and Win Butler’s signature wails.  Listen below!

New songs were also previewed at the recent Quebec show, including spirited tunes such as “We Used to Wait”, “Ready to Start,” and “ Empty Room” as well as more somber tracks like “Rococo”.  Though the new songs express a myriad of emotions, we can’t help but feel only one: excitement.  August, come soon!
