With his new movie Prometheus set to hit theaters on June 8th, Michael Fassbender landed the cover of the June 2012 issue of GQ magazine.

The 35-year-old German actor looked handsome in a suit for the Mario Testino shot spread while opening up about topics including his Oscar disappointment and rumoured co-star girlfriend.

On living in East London, “I always liked the energy ’round here. Traditionally more of a working-class area. A bit of an edginess to it, as well. And the parks are everywhere here. I always just felt like this was the right spot for me.”

On his big break in 2007, landing in Steve McQueen‘s Hunger, “There was something funny about that year. I realized that year somebody left the door open. I’m kind of superstitious – I was born in 1977, it was 2007. I just felt something in my bones.”

On campaigning during award season, “At the beginning people [say], ‘You’re going to be going to the Oscars,’ and you’re like, ‘Whatever, doesn’t matter, don’t think so.’ But after a while it does penetrate. After a while you’re like, ‘Anyway, so I’m going to the Oscars …’ And you start to believe it. And I did. I thought I was going. And then I found out I wasn’t and I was upset. I was very upset by it. The first reaction was, ‘What the f— …?’ It’s a vanity thing. It does become important to you. And it shouldn’t. A good little lesson.”

On his Shame co-star (and rumored girlfriend), Nicole Beharie, “I’m seeing Nicole, we’re trying to see each other as often as possible,” he acknowledges. “That’s kind of difficult when she lives [in New York] and I live in England.” He says they got together during the film’s promotion. “Nothing happened while we were filming. We started talking more on the promotion thing. So, yeah, it just sort of unfolded like that.”

On dealing with how his infamous scene in Shame became the focal point of the entire movie, “It’s fun to a point,” he says of these situations he has been facing, “and after a certain point you worry that it kind of detracts from the movie. But there’s nothing I can do. I just have to laugh it off. I can. Pretty much. Because I take my work seriously but I can’t take myself too seriously. I’m in such a crazy privileged position—shit, this is the pinnacle of the dream when I was 17…. Nobody wants to hear really how difficult it is.”

The Queen of Disco Donna Summer passed away this morning at the age of 63 after a long battle with cancer. Summer was the first artist to have three consecutive double albums reach number one on the US Billboard chart and was a 5-time grammy winner. Her hits include “Last Dance”, “Hot Stuff”, “She Works Hard For The Money” and “Carry On”.

Here’s what the 38-year-old actress had to share:

On surrogacy: “Alec Baldwin asked me straight up — I had made a comment about wearing a fake belly, something innocuous and he looked me straight in the eye and asked me, ‘Are you pregnant right now?’ And I blanched totally. Because of course, technically, no I wasn’t. But then, technically, yes, in a way I was! And it was very weird. I thought Alec was reading my mind or something. Well we weren’t telling anyone then, so I said ‘No,’ I thought, is that a lie? Because it wasn’t a lie, and yet it was a lie! Its essentially a test tube baby—its just the test tube is another woman. That you can grow a baby outside of yourself! Its amazing!”

On her role in What To Expect When You’re Expecting: “I did it for my fellow females. I thought I was standing up for all the women who have crazy horrible pregnancies — you know, there’s all these things we’re not allowed to talk about in public.”

On her weight: “Its not good to put in a magazine what I weigh because its too little. People freak out when they hear what I weigh. They think, Oh, you’re too skinny. But I ate a cupcake last night–and I eat broccoli. I work out with a trainer; she kicks my ass.”

On riding horses in SWATH: “I hated it. I didn’t take to the whole mentality of f**king ordering that thing around — ‘Go now!’ You have to be an a**hole, basically. Not to say that horse people are a**holes to their horses. But you have to basically tell that thing who’s boss, and I didn’t want to do that. I was like, ‘No, do your thing. I don’t even want to be up here.’”

The King of The South is back with the new smash hit “Like That”! Leaving the Angie Martinez show, T.I’s latest record will make a appearance on his upcoming album, Trouble Man. He states, “This is in the same vein as “What You Know”, “Rubberband Man”, etc. trap ish.” The track is reminscent of the “Whatever You Like” rapper’s previous work but with a more aggressive and ambitious feel.

Rumors surfaced Tuesday afternoon about the departure of Tia Mowry from BET’s hit seriesThe Game. Unfortunately, those rumors have proved to be true.
Mowry, 33, confirmed via Twitter that she would be leaving the show to focus on other projects. She stated:

“Just wanted to let all my fans know that I will not be returning to The Game for season 6. It was an incredible run and I had lots of fun along the way. I am looking forward to my upcoming projects…the release of my book #OhBaby [today!], season 2 of @TiaTameraShow on @mystyle premiering in June, and my @ABCFamily movie coming out in December…more to come!” love u so much”

Tuesday night’s episode, presumably shot weeks ago, did not feature her character Melanie Barnett-Davis.

Mowry’s announcement comes as a surprise to many fans as the show has been picked up for a sixth season, with a reported 22 episodes. Reports have also been circulating that Pooch Hall will not be returning; the 35-year-old actor plays Derwin Davis on the NAACP Image Award-winning series. Hall has confirmed his role on Showtime’s new drama Ray Donovan, but has said he is working with BET on a new contract to balance both jobs.

On being showcased in Maxim-ready looks early in her career: “I had a show [Dark Angel] that premiered when I was 19. And right away, everyone formed a strong opinion about me because of the way I was marketed. I was supposed to be sexy, this tough action girl. That’s what people expected…I felt like I was being objectified, and it made me uncomfortable. I wanted to be chic and elegant!”

On how she has grown more assured of herself: “Now that I’m older, I’ve learned how to own it, but I’m still not very overt. There are some women who dress for men. I dress for myself. It took me some time to get here. Being a mom and feeling grown-up have helped. Now if I’m going to wear something short, it has to have a high neck or a little sci-fi toughness to it, an edge.”

On her former, sexier self: “I like to get positive attention. But if I have a choice between someone noticing in a negative way what I’m wearing and going, What was she thinking? or someone not noticing what I’m wearing, I would rather not make a statement at all and just have a good conversation instead.”

Everyone knows Gotye’s smash hit “Somebody That I Used To Know”, and many people have covered it. This time, it is Fun. and Hayley William’s collaboration and cover that has surfaced and it is amazing! Fun., who will be releasing their second album Some Nights on May 21, covered the track with Paramore’s lead singer Hayley Williams at BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge. Williams connected and performed with them via satellite which is a really interesting part of the performance. Singer Nate Ruess had this to say about the performance,”I think it went well. It was a pretty hectic morning, we were never sure how linking Hayley into the show was going to go, it seemed like a pretty daunting technological task.” Check it out below and enjoy!
