Good news for indie music fans, twin sister dynamic duo Tegan and Sara will be heading back into the studio to record their new album on February 20th. They’ve just finished writing their 41st song, although unfortunately they won’t be including all of them on the new record. Too bad, huh? We’d totally buy a 2-disc!

Tegan Quin stated on their official site, “The songs are sounding great and we’re nearly through the song selection process. AND we start recording February 20th! I have no idea how long it’s going to take to finish or when it will come out, but we’ll be updating you as we know things. We’ll be posting a lot while we are in the studio and keeping you up to speed on our antics and progress! So stay tuned and check back here often!”

Their last release was 2009’s Sainthood, which garnered rave reviews and was well-received by critics. Being the innovative artists they are, we’re more than sure Tegan and Sara will be making an excellent comeback.

Trenchers, rejoice! Marianas Trench have finally premiered their visual for the heartsick anthem “Fallout”, taken from their latest concept album Ever After.

Fire! Explosions! The overall impressive use of pyrotechnics creates an air of excitement and sets the emotional tone. With its use of symbolic objects and imagery, the music video effectively captures what it’s like to be the second choice. Good thing your friends, or rather band mates in vocalist Josh Ramsay’s case, will always be there for you when the going gets tough.

Lace up! It’s a great music moment for any artist when your song is chosen to be used in the biggest annual wrestling event in the nation. The inspirational song, “Invincible”, by 21 year-old Cleveland rapper, Machine Gun Kelly featuring Ester Dean will be used as WWE Superstar John Cena’s official theme song at Wrestlemania XXVII as he enters the ring for the main event.

“It’s crazy,” The “Wild Boy” artist states, “John Cena and myself are both underdogs and the song is about struggle, I think it’s so cool they chose it.”

It has been quite the journey for him ever since he started raising flags with his 2010 mixtape Lace Up, and MGK’s popularity has continued to grow exponentially after having acquired recognition with MTV’s Breakthrough Artist of The Year Award and through dedicated fans’ word of mouth.

His hard work and hustle ethic is not to be overlooked, he’s been playing shows all across the country and soon Machine Gun Kelly will be setting the record for the longest consecutive tour run in rap history when he embarks on his 2012 Hostile Takeover, hitting up 90 cities in 99 days, kicking off on March 22nd in Kansas City, MO. After that, he will be touring extensively on the Vans Warped Tour coinciding with the release of his debut album, Lace Up.

In 2009, Queen guitarist Brian May said that the band was toying around with the idea of bringing on Adam Lambert as their permanent frontman. Now, Adam has officially confirmed that he’ll be joining Queen as their frontman for the band’s summer tour!

Here’s what he had to say about it: “The intention is to pay tribute to Freddie and the band by singing some f*cking great songs. It’s to keep the music alive for the fans and give it an energy that Freddie would have been proud of.”

The singer also addressed the fact that he is not trying to replace original band frontman, Freddie Mecury, saying, “After the EMAs, I heard faint little slithers of a backlash from people saying: ‘You can’t replace Freddie Mercury.’ But I already knew that. There’s no intention in my mind of replacing Freddie. That’s impossible. The way I’m choosing to view it is that it’s a great honor and one I’m in no way going to shirk…Being asked to front Queen is the best thing that can possibly happen.”

The British band, featuring Chris Martin, Will Champion, Guy Berryman, and Jonny Buckland, teamed up with Mat Whitecross who directed the shoot. The video depicts a colorful rave, and English actress Antonia Thomas and Shameless‘ Elliott Tittensor star as a young couple in love.

Singer Lana Del Rey her hit song “Video Games” on ‘The Late Show With David Letterman, on Thursday (February 2) in New York City. Del Rey’s new album, Born to Die, made its debut this week and was number 1 in 14 countries. The 25-year-old singer currently graces the cover of British Vogue.

She has been in the studio with hit makers like Chris Brown, the Cataracs, Swizz Beatz and Polow da Don for her forthcoming album, hopefully set to release later this year.

The U.K. singer also just teamed up with pop icon Madonna in her lead single “Give Me All Your Luvin’” featuring Young Money rapper Nicki Minaj. She will be performing alongside the two at the Superbowl (Feb 5). Looks like M.I.A. is going to have a busy schedule!
