New Olly Murs EP

Olly Murs is one of the busiest names in the music industry today. He recently released a new music video for his single “Dear Darlin’” and is set to release a digital EP on Sunday May 26. It will include the live version of the song taken from Olly’s performance at London’s O2 arena plus his version of “Don’t You Worry Child” by Swedish House Mafia. Check out the short clip below of Olly’s cover of the song. And on May 26, download the EP from iTunes!

Cody Simpson Malibu Photo Shoot

Cody Simpson is living the dream this week when he went to Malibu for a video shoot. He Instagramed some photos of himself strumming a ukulele and walking in the sand. I can only wish life were so easy for me.

He is keeping himself busy, getting ready for his Paradise Tour in the summer and his second full length album, Surfers Paradise, releasing July 16. His video for “Pretty Brown Eyes” is doing very well and receiving positive feedback. It is a great song to kick off summer, and having his next video shot in Malibu will keep the summer feelings going. He also performed at the 2013 Radio Disney Music Awards a couple weeks ago. Check out the premiere of Maroon 5‘s latest video for “Love Somebody“! The track serves as the fourth official single off their latest album Overexposed, available in stores now. Directed by Rich Lee, the artistic clip sees lead singer Adam Levine and his band mates coming to life in paint. Its super creative and unexpected from them – I loved it.

“Love Somebody” has always been a treat on the ears and its accompanying video is definitely a treat for the eyes. Looks like they have another hit on their hands. What do you guys think?

New Olly Murs – Dear Darlin

Olly Murs celebrated his birthday on May 14 and released his new music video for “Dear Darlin’” off his latest album Right Place, Right Time. We really get to witness more of Olly’s acting chops in the video in which he portrays a heartbroken man longing for his girlfriend. We even get to see a little kissing action, which makes every girl long to be the actress in the video.

“Dear Darlin’” is more of a ballad, making it very different from his other singles, like “Dance With Me Tonight” and “Troublemaker.” It’s great to see a softer and more emotional side to him. His personality comes across as funny and spontaneous and this video shows his more serious side. Take a look at the video if you haven’t already!

New tour announced for One Direction

The members of One Direction have been hinting at a big announcement being released today and they didn’t disappoint because they have announced an official stadium tour for 2014. It will be called the “Where We Are” tour and it will begin in Latin America with dates to follow in the UK and Ireland.

They announced the news at a press conference in London at Wembley Stadium (a venue they will also be playing). More dates and countries are set to be announced so we will have to keep a watchful eye on their twitters to never miss anything. There is an official website for these announcements here.

The boys of 1D are currently on their “Take Me Home” tour, which will be happening all summer. They also have their concert movie coming out August 30 entitled This Is Us so it looks like 1D won’t be out of the picture anytime soon. Check out their press conference below.

New Music from Mikky Ekko

Mikky Ekko burst onto the music scene with his collaboration with Rihanna on her Unapologetic ballad “Stay.”

Since then, the singer/songwriter has been steadily building a buzz. He’s collaborated with Bad Boy rapper French Montana on his Excuse My French track “Trouble,” and he recently dropped the video for his Clams Casino-produced track “Pull Me Down.”

“Everytime I close my eyes, I feel like I cannot turn back/ everytime I close my eyes, don’t want to fall back into you,” sings Mikky.

The track is listed as a “ruff demo,” but there’s nothing rough about this track. Take a listen for yourself.

Demi Lovato – DEMI Album Review

Demi Lovato has come a long way from the release of her third studio album, Unbroken, which explores a dark past of self mutilation, an eating disorder and abuse in the adolescent singer’s life.

At just 22 years of age, Demi Lovato continues to invite listeners into her personal story of love, heartbreak and finding self worth with the release of her fourth album entitled, DEMI (out May 14). A collective, 13 song album takes listeners through the story of heartbreak, but in a complete “Non-Taylor-Swift,” kind of way. The mix of fast and slow ballads sung with a colossal vocal range by Demi herself, will have girls on their feet one moment and the next, reminiscing about the good days with the one who’s photo you keep “Just in Case,” which happens to be one of the only slow paced songs on this album – with the exception of Shouldn’t Come Back and Nightingale.

The rest of DEMI is much like the first single, Heart Attack, released on February 24. Fast tempo beats with inspirations drawn from artists such as; One Direction, Cody Simpson, Miley Cyrus and even Skrillex, make the pop derived album an instant hit for the young artist. Demi Lovato is the little girl who grew up too fast and has created a well balanced album that allows listeners to understand a little more about her struggle, while not failing to produce feel-good “live in the moment,” type tracks about a guy that broke her heart and one who is now trying desperately to obtain it.

Whether you are in love, going through heart break or spending a night with the girls, DEMI is definitely an album to check out, and don’t forget to listen to the BONUS track on her TARGET album called, “I Hate You, Don’t Leave Me.” Sung with extremely raw vocals and soft guitar strings through out, Demi Lovato has proved to really come into her own as she continues to grow and mature into the beautiful young woman she is today.

The Lonely Island Set to Release New Album

The Lonely Island, known as the guys from Saturday Night Live, are coming out with a new album June 11! On Wednesday May 8, they launched a new web series called Wack Wednesdays in which they will release a new song or video each week leading up to their album release, also entitled The Wack Album.

The Lonely Island consists of Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone. May 8 they uploaded their first video and it included special guests Zach Galifianakis and James Franco. It shows an interview between Franco and Galifianakis and has a spring break theme. The video is something you would typically expect from these boys. The humour and lyrics are all about having fun and partying. “Trashing hotel rooms” and “clogging toilets” are some of the lyrics so you can just imagine what the whole song is about.

Skylar Grey – Final Warning

After showing a more playful side with her Eminem-assisted single “C’mon Let Me Ride,” Skylar Grey debuts the dark and cryptic video for “Final Warning.”

The complex storyline shows a battered and bruised Skylar returning from near death. It appears as though she was having an affair with her sister’s boyfriend, but when she decided to come clean, he tried to kill her. But it’s Skylar who will have the last laugh.

“This is the first time in my entire life of making music, when I made this song, where I feel like I finally figured out the way that I wanted to sound and thecombination of things,” the singer-songwriter tells Rolling Stone. “I wrote the song three years ago, and it’s still my favorite. I’ve written so many songs since then, yet I always go back to this one. It got me going on the whole Skylar Grey project.”

Skylar’s KIDinaKORNER/Interscope debut Don’t Look Down is due July 9. Eminem serves as executive producer, with production from Alex Da Kid and J.R. Rotem.
