Watch This: The Gossip – Move In The Right Direction
With female lead singer, Beth Ditto, belting out The Gossip’s latest track, “Move In The Right Direction”, there is no doubt that this new single is going to be a hit. The track pushes the bands style to the limit, and fans can hear Ditto singing the lyrics “I have faced my fears/Now I can move in the right direction”, which features a new found sense of confidence in the bands sound. This track comes from the bands new album A Joyful Noise, the fifth studio album from The Gossip. With help from producer Brian Higgins, the band was able to stretch their musical creativity and produce some amazing new music. A Joyful Noise will be available May 22 released by Columbia. Music News: Against Me’s Tom Gabel Comes Out As Transgender
The rock band Against Me! has come out with some surprising news today. Lead singer, Tom Gabel, has come out and revealed his plans to begin living life as a woman. Gabel has been dealing with gender dysphoria for years and plans to begin taking hormones and electrolysis treatments. Gabel will assume his new name, Laura Jane Grace, and stay married to his wife, Heather. Rolling Stone asked Gabel how his wife, whom he will stay married to, feels about this transformation. He responded saying “For me, the most terrifying thing about this was how she would accept the news,” says Gabel. “But she’s been super-amazing and understanding.” Gabel has told a handful of family and friends, but wants to be very open about it as he will be the first openly transgendered major rock star. We think this is so inspiring that Gabel is not afraid to be who she really is, so amazing!
Pop Talk: Andre 3000 To Play Jimi Hendrix in Biopic
This man can do anything it seems! One of OutKast’s most successful members, Andre 3000, is confirmed to be playing quite the role. The rapper/musician/actor, and much more, is set to be playing Jimi Hendrix in the upcoming Hollywood biopic film All Is By My Side. The film will focus on Hendrix’s period in England from 1966-67 and the creation of his album Are You Experienced. The film will be directed by John Ridley and is going to be filmed in Ireland over the next six weeks. We are so excited to see how Andre portrays the rock legend because it is sure to be a hit! Music News: Passion Pit Release New Single
Passion Pit have released their new comeback single “Take a Walk” online. This song is the first track to be released from their new album, Gossamer, which will be released July 23rd. The band’s hugely successful album Manners will be a hard album to follow but we are sure the band will impress us all. Michael Angelakos of the band was quoted saying the new album is “gonna be a really fantastic, exciting, beautiful, gorgeous record. An absolutely beautiful record.
