Listen Up: Katy Perry – Wide Awake
It’s the album that just keeps giving! Katy Perry has released yet another single from her Teenage Dream album, entitled ‘Wide Awake,’ and we love it! The new single really showcases her vocal abilities and has a nice melody.
Katy will debut the new song at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards, which will air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 20 on ABC.
The song was written for her upcoming film Katy Perry: Part of Me and will be heard for the first time, live on the show. Perry debuted the song “Part of Me” at the 2012 Grammy Awards. At the time, everyone assumed the song was about ex-husband Russell Brand, though Perry later denied it.
Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection was released earlier this year and features the singer’s original album as well as new tracks.
Demi Lovato & Britney Spears to Judge X-Factor
Two of pop’s princesses have joined forces to judge for X-Factor. Britney Spears and Demi Lovato will be judging on the new season. Their roles were confirmed at the Fox Upfronts presentation in New York City. Spears is looking forward to this whole experience and says “It’s going to be so much fun and so different from anything I’ve ever done. I’m ready to find a true star”. Lovato was thrilled to be a part of X-Factor and “to represent my generation and I’m ready to find the winner”. These two ladies will be replacing Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul. L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell are excited to work with both Spears and Lovato. The two pop stars will not only judge, but also mentor the contestants on the reality show.
Jessica Simpson Set to Release Maternity Line This Fall
The brand new mother, Jessica Simpson is launching her own maternity clothing line. The 31-year-old singer-actress gave birth to beautiful Maxwell Drew Johnson on May 1, and has announced a partnership between Camuto Group, the master licensee behind her label, and retailer Destination Maternity. The clothes will have a 1970s vibe and is expected in stores for Fall. The clothes are meant to be “flattering to your baby bump”. The pieces, which will include vintage-print tops, form-fitting jersey knit dresses and chunky realized sweaters, will start at $36.
Listen Up: Ne-Yo – Lazy Love
Take a listen to Ne-Yo’s new single “Lazy Love” which will serve as the lead single for his fifth album, R.E.D. – set to release later this year. ‘R.E.D.’ stands for ‘Realizing Every Dream’, both positive and negative. The album includes productions from Stargate, Salaam Remi, RedOne, The Underdogs and Chuck Harmony.

Watch This: Hedley Performs on Canada’s Got Talent Finale (Results Show)
On the season finale of CityTV’s Canada’s Got Talent, the results show, Hedley gave a ‘beautiful’ performance of their new single “Beautiful” off their latest album, Storms. Rocking a full mustache was Jacob who soothed the audience and viewers at home with his amazing vocals.
The winner of Canada’s Got Talent was Manitoba’s Sagkeeng First Nation three-member traditional dance troupe Sagkeeng’s Finest, beating out 11 other finalists. Congratulations! Check out their performance below!
Music News: Warped Tour 2012 Compilation CD Tracklist
The Vans Warped Tour is one of the largest alternative music and extreme sports festivals in North America. This year, the tour kicks off on June 16 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and wraps up on August 5 in Portland, Oregon, playing two dates along the way in Canada in Montreal, Quebec, and Toronto, Ontario.
Every year, at every tour date, an official Warped Tour compilation CD is released by SideOneDummy Records to coincide with the start of the tour. They are given for free to presale ticket holders or one can be purchased at the venue or online. The 2012 compilation tracklisting has been revealed and is viewable below.
