If you’re tired of this summer’s barrage of superhero films and can’t wait til October for a horror film, then The Revenant is the film for you! The Revenant made its debut in 2009 film festivals, but is headed to select theatres this August. The film tells the story of a soldier turned vampire, who needs to drink blood to satiate his soul. His human best friend aids him in acquiring much needed blood, but before long his best friend wants to be a vampire as well. The duo become a vampire vigilante team, using their immortality to protect the safety of the innocent. The film appears to be a  genre cross-breed of vampire fantasy, comedy, drama,and crime fighting action.  I must warn you, that these vampires are not the typically beautiful statuesque immortals that we’re used to.
