Tim Burton and Disney are getting us so excited for Frankenweenie, the classic Frankenstein story retold about a boy and his dog. If you don’t know about the movie, just check out the trailer below. This movie trailer has been out for a while now, but what we’re excited for is the new Frankenweenie soundtrack list! The official soundtrack title is “Frankenweenie Unleashed!” This soundtrack looks amazing and features a wide range of artist that we love. NOTE: The score of the movie (what plays in the background of the film) and the soundtrack (music made specifically for the film) are not the same thing. We find that a lot of movies are trying to make that distinction very clear recently. Although we’d love some of these artists to be featured in the actual movie, there’s no guarantee–yet!
Some of the songs I’m most excited to hear are by Kimbra, Grouplove, Passion Pit, Neon Trees, Robert Smith and Mark Foster (from Foster The People). Also Winona Ryder will also be on the soundtrack, which is cool and will be really interesting to hear. Come to think of it, I love all of the artists on this soundtrack and can’t wait to hear their take on the movie. They’ve put together a nice collection of very indie-alternative musicians but they’ve also paired in some musicians who have more of an electronic background too. Just from the soundtrack list, it makes me wonder if this movie is still going to be a typical “dark” or “eerie” feel like many Burton films. I do have faith, but it will be interesting to hear the whole thing together. Hopefully Disney will release a couple featured tracks before September 25th, but unfortunately we still have to wait until then to hear the whole thing. The movie comes out on October 5th, let us know if you’re more excited for the movie or the soundtrack over at Facebook.com/bestfanblog!
