New Orleans rapper Frank Ocean is opening up about his sexuality in a very public way. Taking to his Tumblr account earlier this week, Frank explains that his first experience of falling in love happened to be with someone of the same sex, after Frank relocated to Los Angeles following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. For the last few years, Frank’s music has become more widespread though collaborations with Jay Z and Kanye West, but there was a mysterious nature to his songs and persona. Writing songs for the likes of Justin Bieber and Beyonce, Frank slowly emerged as the next big thing in music.
Now, on the horizon of a new album Channel Orange, Frank is being more candid than ever with his fans and has decided to share who he really is as a person. We feel that it is courageous for anyone to speak up and be their true self, particularly as a celebrity in the hip hop genre.
Frank Ocean’s debut album Channel Orange is slated to release on July 17 and we look forward to hearing what Frank has to say on the album. Below is the recent post Frank shared with fans on his Tumblr account where he explains his story in greater detail.
