Matthew Good took the stage at Yonge & Dundas Square on Friday night during the NXNE showcase.
Thousands of fans came out to see the old school rocker perform a notable, nostalgic set. Being a free show, the crowd’s enthusiasm was evident as they sang along to all the songs they used to listen to.
Matt and his band played many of his hits from over the years, including “Weapons”, “Apparitions”, and “Hello Time Bomb.” Even though crowd was filled with viewers of all ages, this was one of those rare shows that was enjoyed by everybody, because there was always that one line, or that one riff, that everyone knew.
Over the weekend, Yonge & Dundas Square saw many large acts, such as Flaming Lips, Bad Religion, Raekwon and Ghostface Killah, making NXNE 2012 a notable, successful year. The outdoor shows were a hit, and even Matthew Good expressed he thought it should be come a permanent outdoor venue.
We can’t wait until NXNE 2013!
