She wants to follow in the footsteps of fellow artists like Madonna and Prince in creating her own imprint and brand. She had this to say about the future of her record label, “When this record label does come to fruition, I’m going to try and avoid the things that take away any fighting chance for an artist to have financial success. As people are coming to me with opportunities, I’m thinking, ‘How would I want to be treated?’. Katy Perry herself is signed to EMI Capitol Record and her record label is bound to be linked with EMI somehow. We are sure that she will be finding some hot new artists and letting them have the freedom to create the music and albums they truly want!
