As the 2010 World Cup is fast approaching, the official soundtrack for the tournament that will be released promises to have some great musical talents on it, including Shakira’s “Waka Waka This Time for Africa”.

Shakira’s newest single is one of the official songs that will be used for the World Cup. The Canadian singer-songwriter K’naan will also be used to promote the Fifa World Cup as his song “Wavin’ Flag” has been chosen by Coca Cola to be used for one of its commercials.

Shakira’s single is very interesting as it involves many instruments that give the song a unique sound. Some of the people who are included within this single are The African Fusion Band Freshlyground.

Shakira commented on collaborating with this amazing band and what it was like working on the single:  ”This song is a synthesis of the passion for soccer and what it arouses in people.”
