After Fantasia Barrino won American Idol in the third season, she went on to Broadway in “The Color Purple” and had her own reality show on VH1, “Fantasia for Real”. After finally returning to the studio, Fantasia plans to release a third album Back to Me on July 27. The video for her first single “Bittersweet” will premiere June 25.
Ne-Yo, Claude Kelly, Chuck Harmony and many others have contributed to her upcoming album, and Comedian Steve Harvey inspired the album title for the American Idol Winner. “Steve Harvey suggested the album title and it describes perfectly where I am in my life right now,” said Fantasia. “I’ve willingly let the world into my life through my book, the Lifetime television movie, and now the VH1 reality show. Now, it’s time to go back to how things used to be when America first laid their eyes on me on ‘American Idol.’”
